Holy Cross School, Tadong celebrated the 73rd Independence Day with patriotic zeal and fervour in the school ground today in the presence of students, teachers, parents and spectators from the neighbourhood.
Dr. Sr. Merlyn George, Sister Superior of the School, the Chief Guest inspected the marching contingent followed by hoisting of the National Flag. The four different houses presented the March Past which was followed by the Patriotic Song Competition of the Junior School Category. Patriotic Dance Competition was another event organised for the Senior School Category, where all the four houses presented their dances which were second to none. The judges for the competition found it very difficult and it was a neck to neck competition.
During the celebration, a group of students presented a Karate-do demo under the guidance of Miss Babyana Gurung, who was also felicitated by the school for her achievements in the different National and International Competitions.
A friendly football match was also played between Holy Cross School and St. Paul’s Church, Tadong where the host team won by 3-1.
The highlight of the day was the Inter House Football Final played between Blue House and Yellow House where Blue House won the Championship in the Penalties. Upkar Elizah Rai was the Man of the Match and Amodh Limboo was awarded the Most Promising Player.
Sister Principal extended her heartfelt thanks to all the teachers, students, parents and all stakeholders for the grand success of the program.
