Annual Day Celebration-2018: Day 1
Three days long Annual Day Celebration of Holy Cross School, Tadong kicked off today amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation. Shri C. P. Dhakal, Secretary, Dept of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Govt. of Sikkim was the esteemed Chief Guest; Shri Bhim Thatal, Director, Primary Education, HRDD, Govt of Sikkim was the Guest of Honour. Among other dignitaries present were Smt. Geeta Devi Tiwari, Area Councillor, 15-Tadong ward, GMC, Fr Edward Baretto, Parish Priest, St Paul’s Church, 5th Mile, Tadong, Fr Micheal Lepcha and Fr Paul Kabo from St Thomas Church Gangtok, parents and students.
The Annual programme commenced with the lighting of the Ceremonial lamp by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, escorted by the other dignitaries and the Principal. The Principal, Sr. Lissy Mathew formally welcomed the gathering.
The colourful cultural programme based on the theme “Celebrating Life” was presented by the students of the primary section. All the programme presented by the students were vibrant and was with message which was appreciated by everyone present in the programme.
This was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where three of the poor girl child from the primary section were awarded. Late Shri L. B. Mukhia award was given to Markalene Rai of class IV, Eliza Biswakarma of class II was awarded with Late Jagannath Prasad Scholarship and Alice Gurung of Class UKG was awarded the Late Ajay Mundra Award. The award was handed over to the students by the family members of the sponsors. Chief Guest and Guest of Honour were elated with the performance of the students. The Chief Guest stressed on the parents role in bringing up their children and to see that they monitor their child in day to day activity and spend at least some time with their children everyday. All in all the parents appreciated the show put up by the students under the guidance of the teachers. The Annual Report of the School was also shown in the form of Powerpoint Presentation.
