Annual Day Celebration 2018: Day 3
The annual day celebration of the school concluded at the school here on Saturday. Lok Sabha MP P.D. Rai was the Chief Guest of the concluding day that witnessed a colourful cultural show themed “Celebrating Life” presented by the school’s students during the three-day event.
The MP expressed happiness on the school’s performance and congratulated the school teachers for having moulded the students in a great way.
Rai said Sikkim’s progress at present is unprecedented under Chief Minister Pawan Chamling but there are difficulties too in the society which we need to overcome. Her urged the students to say-“no to drugs and yes to life” and also asked the parents and fammily to support their children emotionally as it will help them say “no to drugs and yes to life”.
HRD Additional Chief Secretary GP Upadhyay, the guest of honour, appreciated the shows presented by the students and congratulated everyone. “The students are our future and they should be given teachings on leadership development, sense of belonging and ownership from the school itself. We need competent and responsible human resource now and seeing the students of Holy Cross, I feel the school is doing a great job in bringing up such responsible youths to the state and the country”, he said.
The school presented mementos to the guests followed by award presentation to the students. The Late Padma Devi Singhi Award for best sports student was presented to Chungwann Subba (Class XII), Late Punnya Mata Devi Award for All-rounder student to Sriya Mishra (Class XI). Late Mukesh Sarda Memorial Award for Class X Examination toppers to Milisha Mahapatra, Preeti Adhikari and Sukanya Das, Holy Cross Computer Award for Computer Topper in Class XII Board Examination to Rohit Kumar Rajak and Mother Teresa Award for good in character to Tshering Palmu Bhutia (Class XII).
The Three-day Annual Day Celebration was a huge success and the school family would like to extend the heartfelt thanks to everyone for this.
