The competition was open for the students of all schools across the state from classes 6 to 12.
Holy Cross School, 6th Mile Tadong was one of the 15 schools that took part in the event.
The walkathon was flagged off by the Rural Development Minister Mr.SB Subedi. The students had to cover the route starting from MG Marg via Zero Point, Ridge Park, Palace Gate, Dhuki Paan Dokan and eventually ending at Chintan Bhawan.
The students completed the entire route with full enthusiasm and joy. Even the chilly weather could not dampen their high spirits.
At a time when addiction to electronics gadgets have forced the youths to a sedentary lifestyle thus making them susceptible to various lifestyle diseases events like these go a long way in educating them about the benefits of physical activity in the outdoors.
The students of Holy Cross School, 6th Mile expressed their gratitude towards the Rural Management Deptt. for having organised such an event which sensitizes the general public about healthy sanitary practices.
