From the Principal's Desk

01 April, 2026 Holy Cross School, Tadong

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you all to the start of the 2026 academic session. As we embark on this exciting journey together, I want to highlight the theme for this year: "Value First - Building Character for Tomorrow."

Dear students, you are standing at the threshold of numerous opportunities and experiences that will not only influence your academic path but also shape the character you will carry into the future. Placing values at the forefront is essential as it means recognizing the importance of integrity, respect, empathy, and responsibility in everything you do. These values are the building blocks of your character and will guide your decisions and actions both in school and beyond. I encourage you to reflect on what these values mean to you as you navigate your studies, friendships, and extracurricular activities. Remember, the character you build today will lay a strong foundation for your future success.

Dear parents, your role in nurturing these values in your children is invaluable. Your support and guidance at home in prioritizing values reinforces what we strive to instill at school. Together, we can create an environment where values are celebrated, and a strong sense of responsibility is cultivated. Let us set a positive example for our children, demonstrating that true success is not defined solely by achievements, but by the character we exhibit in pursuit of those achievements.

Building character involves commitment, self-awareness, and prioritizing what truly matters. This year, I encourage you, our students, to cultivate habits that reinforce your values in both your studies and your daily lives. Whether it's by setting a routine, being respectful to classmates and teachers, or engaging in community service, each step you take contributes to your journey of personal and academic growth.

We understand that life can present challenges, and there may be times when you stumble. Embrace these moments as learning opportunities. True character is forged in times of adversity, and I am confident that our students will emerge stronger and wiser from their experiences.

As a school community, we will strive to foster a culture that values character and recognizes the efforts that embody these principles. Throughout the year, we have planned various activities aimed at encouraging discussions about values, helping you develop self-discipline, and honoring those who exemplify these ideals.

Together, let us commit to placing values first and building character that will empower us to shape a brighter tomorrow. Let us strive to create a community where respect, empathy, and responsibility flourish, nurturing the leaders of the future.

Thank you for your continued support. Let us make this academic session a truly remarkable one!
